Mahbubul Hoque belongs to a popularly known Educated
Family which is the most prominent & large networked
family located in a remote Village named Purbogool under
Patharkandi constituency of Karimganj District of Assam,
India. Born to Late Ibrahim Ali & Late Khairun Nessa
Begum, he is brought up with eight brothers & two sisters,
out of which two brothers died - His elder brother Prof.
Qoumrul Hoque who was a Lecturer of Nabin Chandra College,
Badarpur & had single handedly taken the lead in
establishing a large number of educational institutions in
the Barak Valley Region of Assam, died suddenly in a
tragic accident suspected to be a conspiracy while he was
travelling from Guwahati to Silchar in September 1998 who
was also partially helping him financially for his higher
studies. Recently, in the year 2012, he lost his beloved
eldest brother Nurul Hoque who supported & guided him
throughout his struggle period.
Mr. Hoque is married to Mrs. Shahida Rahman of Doboka,
Dist. Nagaon, Assam, D/o Mr. Abdur Rahman Barbhuiya,
Principal of Doboka College who is a graduate, housewife &
associated with different welfare activities. She is also
the General Secretary of ERD Foundation.
He has two children, both are studying in Cambridge
