Guwahati, February 3, 2022: The ERD Foundation Guwahati has announced today the names of a total of 19 candidates who have been nominated for the award of ‘Prof. Qoumrul Hoque Memorial Research Fellowship’ to pursue PhD research at the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya. The Fellowship is being launched with the objective to foster and encourage research activities among the faculty members and administrative staff of ERDF Group of Institutions and partner organizations.
Dr A H Barbhuiya, Academic Registrar of USTM has stated that on fulfillment of the terms and conditions as per the Policy for pursuing Ph. D programme by Internal Scholars as well as on the basis of performance in the qualifying examination, Mahbubul Hoque, the Chairman, ERDF & Chancellor, USTM has nominated the 19 faculty members and administrative staff under ERD Foundation for “Prof. Qoumrul Hoque Memorial Research Fellowship” to pursue Ph.D. at University of Science & Technology Meghalaya from 2022(A) Batch.
As the internal scholars sponsored by ERDF will add value to the organisation in particular and the community in general by his/her scholastic pursuit, ERDF shall consider from time to time to compensate such internal scholars suitably by way of higher compensation, reward, appreciation, recognition and promotion in befitting manner. This will be considered on the basis of review of his/her progress of research initiative by the coordination committee consisting of one representative each from ERDF, USTM and the Institution concerned and also the performance in his/her position in the Institution.
The internal scholar shall have to give an assurance to the ERDF that he/she would complete the Ph.D. programme within the stipulated time frame. After successfully qualifying for the degree of Ph. D, the ERDF would give preference to such internal scholars in the matter of appointment in the probable vacancies for higher positions in any of the ERDF Institutions.
